Avenues of Healing
Here at Pivoting, we believe there are several routes to healing and that therapy is only one of those modalities. Healing is meant to be active. To keep your progress moving, we incorporate somatic techniques—including walk and talk therapy—and creative art-based interventions. Creative techniques are incorporated into the healing process to serve as a bridge to deeper self-reflection. While these interventions are not a substitute for formal art therapy, they offer a dynamic way for clients to explore their inner world.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that healing is multi-dimensional. To support this, we look to partner with practitioners across the dimensions of wellness. Here are a list of agencies we currently partner with. If you are already working with a provider you’d like us to coordinate with, we are happy to share brief updates to ensure your care is seamless and integrated.

Walk and Talk-something that seems so simple can be transformative.
Is Therapy Right For Me?
Only you can determine if therapy is right for you. Here are a few questions to consider when thinking about selecting this modality.
What am I looking for in a therapist? Is age, race, gender or experience important to me?
What do I know about the therapeutic process?
Am I looking to uncover some concerns from the past ? Do I want to only focus on the present and future goals?
What are my own beliefs regarding therapy?
Selecting a therapist is a very important part of this process. While it can take time to build rapport, talking to your therapist should not feel scary or intimidating. Check in with yourself-if something feels off or unnatural, find a therapist that feels like a better fit.
What therapy is not
A place to seek advice. Your therapist will walk alongside you, ask thought provoking questions to aid in your own reflection, but will not tell you what to do. A therapist has an expertise, but you are the expert of your life. You should be in the driver seat of your healing journey.
Talking to a “paid” friend. Your therapist is a professional that has devoted years to this practice and continuously seeks new ways to support clients. While the therapeutic relationship aides in healing-there are important differences between your therapist and your friend.
If you believe that you are ready to pivot onto a new path, we would be happy to help you!
